Kit Transforms 1990s Porsche 964 to 1973 911 Carrera RS Classic

The Porsche 911 series has a remarkable history stretching back five decades, and perhaps one of the most impressive feats is that the Stuttgart-based company essentially managed to produce the same car for 35 years until it presented the completely new and water-cooled 996 generation in 1998.

You only need to put the classic 911 (1963-1998) next to the revised 964 (1989-1994) and 993 (1993-1998) to see the similarities and the common architecture between the three generations. If you want more proof, then check out what DP Motorsports has to offer owners of the 964 series of the 911.

Porsche Rumored to Launch Small-Displacement Turbo'd Flat-Four Within the Year

When you think Porsche and four cylinder engines, images of the rather underpowered 914 spring to mind, and while it was a real Porsche in the way it was engineered, built and its handling characteristics, the quickest version with a two-liter engine could only sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.7 seconds. They did get the four-pot formula much better with the 924, 944 and 968, with the latter becoming classics.

Power won't be a problem with the German manufacturer's rumored new flat-four engine, which reportedly is coming within the year, complete with turbocharging.

Scoop: New Porsche Macan Nabbed on the Road, Shows Interior

After making its mark on the luxury mid-size crossover segment with two generations of the Cayenne, Porsche is now pointing its guns towards the compact section of the premium segment with the upcoming Macan, a lightly camouflaged prototype of which, we spied on German roads.

If you're looking at the interior and exterior pictures of the Macan and thinking "mini-Cayenne", we will agree with you. We still can't make out all the details of the front and rear ends due to the trick-plastic makeover, but the main difference from the Cayenne (besides the more compact dimensions), will be the sleeker-looking glasshouse with the more angled rear window.

Poll: Has The Facelift Done The Trick for the Porsche Panamera?

When I first saw the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept, I was very pleased to see that the next incarnation of the Porsche sedan was going to stop being disproportionate (especially at the back), and start being handsome like it should have been all along. However, now that the facelift has been revealed, we have something to ease the wait for the completely new version, which is due around 2015 or 2016.

What we are left to contend with until then is the recently unveiled 2014 model-, which I believe has helped the Panamera rid itself of some of the awkward styling cues.

Ever heard of a Bitcoin? Apparently, it's the most widely used alternative currency, entirely digital and based on an open-source, peer-to-peer protocol. Introduced in 2009, the Bitcoin has gained ground ever since and exploded approximately two weeks ago with the banking crisis in Cyprus.

As of March 2013, Bitcoins have reached a monetary base of $1.28 billion, with 11 million of them in circulation. Their number will continue to grow until 21 million Bitcoins are in circulation. The digital currency isn’t regulated by a central bank and all transactions are peer-to-peer.

If you call a car "badass", it should mean something. The term is thrown around quite a lot, and it is attributed to unmeritorious automotive proposals.
